DaanVeda Cancellation and Refund Policy

Applies to: DaanVeda Private Limited ("DaanVeda", "we", "us") and all customers ("you") on any paid or free plan.
1. Summary
- Free plan: nothing is charged, so nothing is refundable.
- Monthly plans: non-refundable. You can cancel anytime to stop the next charge; you keep access until the end of the paid month.
- Annual Premium: 30-day money-back guarantee from the date your subscription is activated.
- Annual Enterprise: 30 days by default, extendable to up to 60 days where expressly stated in your Order Form or MOU.
- Add-ons: custom datasets and top-up credits already used are non-refundable.
- The guarantee is forfeited if the account is used in breach of our Terms, including scraping/bot activity, reselling data, or abuse. See Section 7.

2. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time from Account Settings -> Subscription, or by writing to care@daanveda.com.
Effect of cancellation: you retain access to all paid features until the end of your current billing cycle. We do not issue partial or pro-rata refunds for the unused remainder of a cycle.
Auto-renewal: to avoid renewal, you must cancel at least 30 days before the end of the term for annual plans, or before 11:59 p.m. IST on the day before your next billing date for monthly plans, consistent with our Terms of Service.
Cancelling stops future billing; it is separate from a refund request. See Section 5.
3. The Money-Back Guarantee
We want you to commit with confidence, so annual customers get a money-back guarantee:

No justification needed - within reason. Inside the window, you do not have to prove the platform "failed"; genuine dissatisfaction is enough. The guarantee is not, however, a way to use the platform's most resource-intensive outputs for free and then reclaim the fee. See Sections 6 and 7.
"Activation" means the date your paid account is provisioned and login credentials are issued, not the date of payment, whichever the customer is notified of first.
4. What the Guarantee Is Not
- It is not a free trial. Because onboarding is compute-intensive, we do not offer open trial access; the guarantee exists instead, alongside the free plan, to let you evaluate with low risk.
- It does not apply to renewals. The guarantee applies to your first paid term only. Renewal terms are non-refundable unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
- It does not create a right to partial or pro-rata refunds after the window closes.
5. How to Request a Refund
- Email care@daanveda.com from your registered email with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include your organisation name, registered account email, and a brief reason.
- We acknowledge within 3-5 business days and confirm eligibility.
- If approved, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 30 calendar days of approval.
We assess each request against this policy in good faith. Raising a refund request does not, by itself, waive or alter any other term of your agreement.
6. Non-Refundable Items
Even within the guarantee window, the following are never refundable, and their value will be deducted from any approved refund:
- Custom datasets. Each organisation is entitled to one custom dataset per plan; because these are built to order and resource-intensive, any fee attributable to a requested or delivered custom dataset is non-refundable, on Premium or Enterprise.
- Consumed top-up credits. Credits you have already spent, including email reveals, phone reveals, enrichment, insights, and AI-personalised emails, are non-refundable. Unused top-up credit balances are non-refundable but remain usable until expiry.
- Taxes and statutory levies already remitted (for example, GST), to the extent non-recoverable.
- Third-party pass-through charges, if any, expressly identified at purchase.
Drawing down an entire annual credit allocation in a single block, or front-loading bulk reveals, will be treated as consumed value and deducted accordingly.
7. When Refund Rights Are Waived or Forfeited
Your refund rights, including the money-back guarantee, are void if, in our reasonable and evidence-based determination, any of the following has occurred. In these cases no refund is owed, and we may also suspend or terminate the account and pursue remedies under our Terms of Service.
A. Automated Access, Scraping, or Bot Activity
Accessing the Service through bots, crawlers, scrapers, scripts, or any automated means. The contractual threshold for automated/bot activity is more than 120 requests per minute from a logged-in account, as measured by our rate-monitoring systems.
B. Data Misuse
Reselling, sublicensing, redistributing, scraping, exporting beyond licensed limits, publishing, or commercially exploiting DaanVeda data; or using it to build or train a competing database or product.
C. Acceptable-Use Violations
Using the Service for unsolicited bulk email/spam, unlawful outreach, or any purpose prohibited by our Terms, including violations of the DPDP Act, CAN-SPAM, or applicable telecom/marketing law.
D. Account Abuse / Circumvention
Opening multiple accounts, seat-sharing or time-sharing, or otherwise circumventing usage or rate limits.
E. Fraud or Chargeback Abuse
Payment fraud, or initiating a bank/card chargeback instead of using this refund process. See Section 9.
F. Requests Outside the Window or Ineligible Plans/Items
Requests outside the window, or on plans/items that carry no refund right, including monthly plans, renewals, custom datasets, and consumed credits.
Process safeguard: where a forfeiture is based on alleged scraping or bot activity, the refund decision and the abuse finding are handled as two separate tracks. We will not condition a customer's refund on an admission of fault or an apology letter. If the evidence supports a violation, we state it factually, preserve the logs, and offer the customer's IT team access to coordinate a review, but the refund eligibility question is decided on its own terms.
8. Discretionary Refunds
Outside the situations above, we may at our sole discretion offer a refund, credit, discount, or extension as a goodwill gesture. For example, where there has been a genuine, sustained service outage caused solely by us and not cured after notice. Granting such consideration once does not create any obligation to do so again, and is not an admission of liability.
9. Chargebacks
Please use this policy and care@daanveda.com to resolve any billing concern before contacting your bank or card issuer. Initiating a chargeback while a refund request is in progress, or in place of this process, may result in immediate suspension of the account and forfeiture of any refund or goodwill consideration, and we reserve the right to contest the chargeback with our records of usage and delivery.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and, where required, notified to active customers. The policy in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.
11. Governing Terms
This policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and any Order Form or MOU you have signed. Where an Order Form/MOU expressly states different refund terms, for example an extended Enterprise window, the Order Form/MOU controls for that customer. Disputes are governed by Indian law and resolved by arbitration in New Delhi, as set out in the Terms of Service / MOU.
